Collecting data on our students is the only way forward

Ubiquitous data collection will give rise to large datasets, which can help improve outcomes for all students – especially those most in need, according to Engageli Co-Founder and Stanford University computer science adjunct professor Daphne Koller in a recent article she authored for Times Higher Education.

Daphne explains how the integration of technology into the classroom – whether in-person, hybrid, or fully online – provides an opportunity to measure how each student is engaging with their learning space, the types of interactions they are having with their peers, and their responses to subject matter presented in class.
