Launched in October 2020, Engageli was founded by a team that includes serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist Dan Avida, his wife Daphne Koller, a Stanford Adjunct Professor of Computer Science and co-founder of Coursera, and Serge Plotkin, a Stanford Professor Emeritus.
During the lockdown, Dan and Daphne's daughters found themselves forced to learn using video conferencing tools intended for business meetings. They, like most other learners, did not enjoy the experience. Much worse, for vulnerable populations, the use of these tools led to the loss of critically important years of education.
Dan and Daphne quickly put together a company with the mission of improving education for all learners through a purpose-built, engaging, accessible, and dynamic online learning platform.
Create community through social, flexible, and active learning
Drive digital inclusivity for all learners, regardless of location and / or technology
Improve learner outcomes
