Co-Founder and CEO Dan Avida Featured in Online Announcement

SAN MATEO, CA – December 8, 2021
Engageli, a purpose-built digital learning platform designed by educators to foster active, collaborative learning, and deeper peer-to-peer connections, today announced it has been named to HolonIQ’s 2021 North America EdTech 200, a list of the 200 most promising education technology companies in North America. Compiled by HolonIQ, the world’s leading impact intelligence platform, this annual list highlights the innovations occurring across the education market. Engageli Co-Founder and CEO Dan Avida was one of three CEOs featured during the online event announcing the winners.

“It’s an honor to be included in the 2021 North America EdTech 200. This recognition is a testament to the work we are doing to improve higher education, not only in North America, but worldwide, by creating social, flexible, and active learning opportunities,” said Avida. “Educators and students alike are eager for flexible learning environments. Engageli was designed to deliver high-quality, collaborative experiences to foster engagement and learning, even in large-scale lecture environments.”

The 2021 HolonIQ North America EdTech 200 honorees were selected based on scores across five dimensions: Market, the quality and relative attractiveness of the specific market in which the company competes; Product, the quality and uniqueness of the product itself; Team, the expertise and diversity of the team; Capital, the financial health of the company and its ability to generate or secure sufficient funding; and Momentum, scored positive changes in the size and velocity of the company over time.

Engageli was included in the Learning Environments & Student Support category.

Built by a team of educators, EdTech pioneers, and successful entrepreneurs, Engageli is designed to promote and measure active learning, peer-to-peer collaboration, and learner participation, as well as reduce instructors’ cognitive load. Built from the ground up, its inclusive, secure virtual classrooms feature students clustered together in smaller groups at virtual tables and integrated tools, including quizzes, polls, and content sharing. Supporting all modalities of teaching, including in-person instruction, Engageli provides a consistent, accessible, high-quality experience for all students.

“As institutions around the world reimagine learning for their students, our university partners tell us they need online tools that support collaborative classrooms, not just meetings,” added Avida. “Engageli enables classroom engagement by providing tools and data-driven insights that let educators optimize the experience for all students.”
